Mounted the 200$-valued New-In-Box Nardi 5-speed wooden teardrop-shaped knob. It feels so damn classy. It’s not coming off; I’m going to use this knob for my daily driving to and from work and I’m going to use it the way it’s meant to be used rather than let it sit like a Treasure Hunt Hot Wheels or sell it from a 100$ profit margin (only paid about 90$ for it). I’ll drive this car into the ground before I even think about selling it, and this knob is coming along for the ride!

Nice! I installed a shortshifter & 4" extended length shaft in my NB today. The stock Nardi shift knob I have looks a little goofy sitting above the leather shift boot though. But it feels so GOOD. Like, this is the way the shifter should have been from the factory. I love it.

Nice! If you’re looking for a boot with a better design, then try out Redline Goods stuff.

I thought about the extension but I have enough reach as-is to confidentially select any gear I want.

A NB 5 or 6 speed teardrop, a Nardi Evolution from a NA, or one of Nardi’s other designs?

I was initially skeptical of the wood steering wheel and shift knob in my brother’s SE, but they grew on me quickly. I’d put one in my 3 if I didn’t think it’d look completely out of place.

Hot damn, those wooden 5-speed knobs are stupid-rare! I spent a good 9 months searching for mine. I’m sure you’ll get a pretty money if yours is in good condition with the shift pattern intact.

I’m still hunting for an ‘01 SE wooden wheel, I have the wooden parking brake grip on standby for installation. If I get a ‘01 SE wheel instead of a ‘00 SE’s, then I’ll have to take it to a wood-smith to have it reconditioned and color-matched to the shift knob.

http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.… This guy buys and resells the OEM wooden teardrop knobs all the time. He’s only been able to score 6-speed patterns and they sell quickly for 100$+ depending on their condition.

Looking sweet, man! Anyone else hunting for a Nardi Teardrop like this, Justin knows I’m always selling a couple - not NIB perfect like his, mind you. I prefer them nicely broken in. ;)
